COMPANY
ABOUT US
Lanza Metallwaren was founded in 1970 by Wolfgang Lanza, and right up to the present day has maintained its entrepreneurial momentum to become one of the leading suppliers of precision turned parts. The basis of success is the steadfast search and discovery of new solutions for new challenges. Today, the still growing family business has 60 employees and 5,000 square meters of production space.
The Lanza company was founded as a trading company. Based on the trade in semi-finished metal products and through advice on quality and excellent customer service, a durable business partnership evolved over the years with major customers, who were, so to speak, producers of precision turned parts. The demise of individual metal processing operations prompted the Lanza company to contact the end customers directly in order to secure the market through the processing of the traded products into turned parts. The resulting additional trade in turned parts gave rise to the idea at the end of the 1970s, to buy up the existing machinery and to pick up the staff and customer base from specialist companies going into liquidation, resulting in the development of a small but expandable production enterprise. A further foundation stone was laid in the late 1980s, with the start of the next generation in the family business and the expansion of the machine stock with CNC supported, and fully CNC controlled systems. With the use of single and multi-spindle automatic lathes, the demand from well known turned parts user was covered in the home and export market. The expansion of in-house tooling production through the use of the most technically advanced level of wire EDM and profile grinding reduced the production lead time for mould tooling, for the manufacture of complex profiles and sophisticated surfaces, by an order of magnitude. Due to our on-time deliveries and quality, acclaimed by many awards from customers, we also became an effective partner in the development of new products. Today, the experience of well trained skilled staff is readily received amongst our customer base.Due to the upturn in business in recent years, we at Lanza Metallwerke have achieved a critical level which in figures amounts to an incoming volume of 4,500 tonnes per year. Our skill lies not just in the wide range of manufacturing capability in the turned parts sector, but is reflected primarily in the qualitative result of mass-produced precision turned parts.
ACTIVE FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT
- Environmental protection as an integral part of production
- Environmental viability for cost savings for our customers
- 100% recycling of waste material
- Use of exhaust and engine waste heat
- Coolant treatment and recycling
- CFC free and CHC free solvents for cleaning the parts
In our facilities, all waste materials are prepared for the recycling process. Swarf and solid waste are provided to metal works, for reprocessing into semi-finished products, free from cutting fluid coolant residues. Coolant fluids are processed and fed to the machining process again. Exhaust air is recycled, and coolant residues from oil mist filter systems are continuously fed back to the coolant storage. Warm air is discharged or recycled for heating.
